Containers are exposed to a very severe and harsh oceanic corrosive environment-excessive UV sunrays, high moisture, and high salinity.

KCC's container coating have been chosen by the world's major leasing and shipping companies as well as container manufacturers for protection of their valuable equipment. 
As at the year end of 1996, KCC marked an accumulated total record of over 3 million teu of containers supplied with its quality coatings. In 1996 alone, KCC maintained an average market-share of over 40% of the world's entire demand for container coatings.

In line with the customers' diversified demands for an upgraded container with better coatings, KCC is gearing up its technological development activities in creating suitable products not only for ordinary containers but also special purpose containers.

KCC is developing technology to be applied on containers for special use in addition to the general containers. The use of fluoride resin-based paint on aluminum containers for an extended life time of the coating system is one of the examples of such development activities.
